Team DRAMA SCENE is made up of passionate individuals who are well versed in the drama skill set. Our small team of facilitators are industry professionals from around the globe, many of whom are performers themselves.
In short we are passionate about performance and sharing our knowledge with others.

Ferne Reynolds Lategan
Founder & Creative Director
DRAMA SCENE was founded by Ferne Reynolds Lategan in 2008. Ferne is a qualified speech and drama professional and holds an Honors Degree in BA Dramatic Art.
Having lived in Dubai since 2003, Ferne decided to return to her first love, drama and founded DRAMA SCENE with around 30 students. Under her vision and guidance the school has grown into the largest skill based performing arts school the region as well as the largest private LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) Exam centre in the Middle East. Ferne believes in combining technique with creativity in order to offer drama as more than just a past time but a life long skill set. Under her guidance, many of her teen students have been accepted into top drama courses within international universities and drama schools across the UK, US and Canada in an effort to pursue careers in performance.
Aside from teaching and managing DRAMA SCENE across the ME, Ferne adjudicates interschool debating, performing and public speaking events in and around Dubai and produces and delivers corporate workshops. She is further passionate about directing and in 2012 co-directed Love, Loss and What I Wore written by Nora Ephron. Ferne herself is no stranger to performing. Whether on stage, in front of a camera or co hosting the awards ceremony for The Dubai International Film Festival Ferne is at home in front of an audience. Her experience covers numerous stage productions, soap operas and cameos in international films.

Rebecca Pear (Becky)
Performing Arts Teacher

Rebecca (Becky) hails from Birmingham and began dancing when she was four at Delph Dance Academy, based in Tamworth, where she competed in competitions locally and around the country, winning several Championships and Awards.
After turning sixteen, Rebecca went on to continue her education and completed a First Diploma in Dance and a National Diploma in Dance at Burton College. She then gained a Scholarship at one of the top Performing Arts schools in Nottingham, Expressions Academy of Performing Arts and achieved a Trinity College London Diploma in Musical Theatre. While there, Rebecca performed at Move It Dance festival for three years running, as one of the lead dancers and was thrilled to appear at the Royal Albert Hall, and also performed in Spain and Paris. Rebecca became a member of the IDTA association and a qualified teacher.
Rebecca is continuing her studies later on in her career and currently undertaking an online BA Hons degree in theatre studies with Rose Bruford college in Sidcup Kent.
Rebecca has been teaching since the age of eighteen and has taught in London for two years at the Pauline Quirke Academy as their Musical Theatre Teacher. Rebecca was Head Choreographer for their shows. She has prepared children for Musical Theatre examinations with Trinity College London, RAD Ballet and LAMDA, achieving a 100% pass rate.
Since graduating in 2013, Rebecca has worked as a professional singer and dancer touring Europe with Pet Shop Boys the Tribute. She has filmed music videos and worked on film sets and award shows in Asia. Rebecca’s TV credits include Channel 4’s Big Brother, ITV’s The Nightly Show and BBC1 Waterloo Road.
Rebecca loves sharing her knowledge and passion for performing arts with her students.

Sarah-Jane Savage
Performing Arts Teacher
“Sarah-Jane is an Actress and Musical Theatre performer from Scotland. She trained at New College Lanarkshire where she obtained her BA (hons) in Musical Theatre and Level 1 & 2 in the prestigious Estill Vocal Training.
Sarah-Jane has been teaching and performing in the UAE for the past 7 years where she has worked on award-winning Short Films, TV Commercials, Stage Shows, Improvised Theatre and Mini Musicals.
Her credits include; Sandra (Soap & Glory, 2020) Little Red (Little Red Riding Hood, 2019) Princess Anna (Frozen @ Dubaice, 2017/18) Nancy/Geralyn, Love, Loss and What I Wore, 2016) Newton/Presenter (Dexter’s Laboratory, 2015) Narrator (Into The Woods, 2014) Miss Sandra (All Shook Up, 2013) Julie Johnson (Bad Girls, 2012)
Sarah-Jane is no stranger to DRAMA SCENE has been teaching Acting & Musical Theatre classes working towards LAMDA examinations since 2017. SJ is excited to be making her return to DRAMA SCENE after working on children’s stage shows in the region. She can’t wait to see some familiar faces and help students reach their full potential.”

Charlotte Sacks
Performing Arts Teacher
Drawing from a lifelong passion for the performing arts, Charlotte began her vocational training at a young age, attending local Ballet, Tap, Modern, and Musical Theatre classes. During this time, she appeared in several adaptations of well-known shows, including ‘Oklahoma!’ and ‘Billy Elliot’.
In 2012, Charlotte secured a scholarship to attend full-time training in performing arts at Susi Earnshaw Theatre School, London. Training under the Trinity Guildhall syllabus, she obtained certificates in singing, individual acting skills, theory of music, speech and drama, as well as studying dance across multiple disciplines. She later honed her craft in musical theatre at The Arts Educational Schools in London before earning a degree in acting at Falmouth University.
After graduating, Charlotte channeled her creative energy into performance and leadership roles and served as the lead singer of her own band, developing, managing, and promoting the group while performing at established venues across the southwest of England. Simultaneously, she completed acting assignments in short films and theatre productions, including collaborations with the award-winning festival FEAR.
Expanding both her artistic and educational horizons, Charlotte spent the last two years working as a musical theatre director & coach at a theatre company in Hong Kong, where she directed vibrant productions of ‘Oliver!’ and ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ and co-directed ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Barnum’, and ‘ABBA: The Party’. During this time, Charlotte also coached students in LAMDA Musical Theatre, Acting, and Public Speaking, achieving a 100% pass rate in all examinations.
Charlotte is both delighted and excited to be working with Team DRAMA SCENE where she can continue to inspire creativity and excellence in a theatrical environment.

Zoe Heggie
Performing Arts Teacher
Zoe hails from Scotland and trained in Musical Theatre at New College Lanarkshire, receiving her BA in Performing Arts.
Zoe is a passionate, bubbly and nurturing teacher who is well versed in Acting, Musical Theatre, Singing and Dance and loves to share her knowledge and passion with children aged 4-17 years. Zoe and has taught in different primary and high schools across Scotland. Her speciality is singing, especially one to one tuition although she has also choreographed many larger productions and taught different dance disciplines including street dance, tap, jazz and contemporary.
Zoe is no stranger to performing on stage herself, she has been performing since she was a young child and still loves to perform. Some recent credits include: Elle Woods in ‘Legally Blonde’, Sarah in ‘Our House’, Cathy in ‘The Last 5 Years’, the Narrator in ‘Joseph’, Laurey in ‘Oklahoma’ and Reno Sweeney in ‘Anything Goes’.
Zoe is excited to join Team DRAMA SCENE, share her love of performing and inspire others to tread the boards.

Carly Athawes
Performing Arts Teacher
Carly has loved performing since the age of 2 and by the age of 3 was competing in local dance competitions in the UK. These competitions took her up and down the country by her teenage years and her love of performing has never stopped.
Carly attended the Daphne Bennetts School of dance in the UK for many years, she took her learning further to complete a 1 year Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) at LIPA and a further 3 years at Liverpool Theatre School to receive her Level 6 Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.
Upon completing her training Carly has been working in the industry, both as a performer, choreographer, talent manager and teacher. Her work has taken her around the world to countries such as France, Australia, Egypt, India, Nigeria, Kuala Lumpur, Philippines and the GCC. Carly has taught many styles of dance, drama and musical theatre with ages ranging from young children to adults. She has been a cover teacher at many reputable drama, dance and theatre schools in the UAE and likes to make her classes fun, engaging, and educational.
Carly is looking forward to being a part of the DRAMA SCENE team and sharing her knowledge, experience and nurturing young talent.

Amanda Mpofu

Amanda Mpofu -Performing Arts Teacher
Amanda Mpofu is a passionate Performing Arts and Public Speaking teacher with over a decade of experience in the theatre world. Originally from Zimbabwe, she spent 13 years as part of the Victory Arts community, where she acted in theatre productions and films, honing her craft and connecting with fellow creatives. Amanda also spent 7 years nurturing young performers at Masiyephambili Junior School before expanding her reach internationally.
Her journey has taken her across the globe, including time in Dubai and Melbourne, where she further developed her skills as a drama instructor and improv teacher. Amanda’s experience in improvisation has greatly enriched her teaching style—helping students build confidence, think on their feet, and communicate with clarity and creativity in both performance and public speaking.
A creative force, Amanda specializes in acting, directing, and writing inspirational plays that spark thought and conversation. She thrives on those magical “aha!” moments—when students discover their potential or fall in love with the stage. Amanda is no stranger to DRAMA SCENE and has worked with us previously. Our students adore her bubbly energy and love learning from her.
